Eastlight featured in Inside Housing Top 50 Biggest Builders
We’re happy to share the fantastic news that we’ve been recognised in Inside Housing’s annual ‘Top 50 Biggest Builders’ list, climbing to number 44 and improving on our ranking from last year.
In 2023-24, we delivered 417 homes for, affordable rent and shared ownership across the East of England. This is the highest number of homes we have built in a single year and included building our milestone 1000th home.
Additionally, we also placed at number 50 for the 317 homes we have planned for 2024-25.
Amanda Hayward moved into our 1000th home, an accessible bungalow at our Mount Hill estate in Halstead, in 2023 and helps reminds us of the importance of giving our residents a place to call home. She said: “We’ve been on the housing waiting list for so long; it feels fantastic to be in my new home.
“It's like a weight has been lifted. Everything is just amazing at the moment. This home is going to make a huge difference to my life.
“Having a disability, I can now go out the house on my scooter to anywhere I need to go without needing someone to help me. It's also going to make a huge impact on my family, now that we've got more room. The future is looking very bright.”
Delivering homes for those who need them is an important part of the work we do at Eastlight and can have a real effect on the lives of those who need a home the most.
Andrew Hull, our Executive Director of Operations, added: “Having a safe and affordable place to call 'home' can have such a positive impact on our health and wellbeing.
“Whether it’s through partnership with developers or building our own Eastlight-led schemes, we want to make sure we’re doing our bit to tackle the current housing shortage and giving more people access to what should always be a basic human right.”
