Celebrating the All In Alliances!

Evolving from the All In programme, the All In Alliances have empowered residents to allocate crucial funds to initiatives that matter most to them - distributing an incredible £24,000 in total! From homeless charities to performing arts groups, the Alliances have supported a wide array of causes directly benefitting our communities.

Here’s a glimpse of where that money’s gone:

Supporting the elderly with Age Well East

At the final Colchester Alliance meeting, Age Well East was awarded £875 to enhance its Inbound Support Service. This vital service serves as a first point of contact for individuals seeking help with bereavement, loneliness, and dementia diagnosis.

Thanks to this funding, Age Well East can continue to provide critical support to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Creating a Safer Environment at Witham Valley Nursery

Witham Valley Nursery received £1,000, enabling the nursery to improve its safeguarding measures by installing outdoor screening, new noticeboards, and a variety of outdoor decorations.

The funds also paid for new toys, including bubble machines and wind chimes, creating a more engaging and safer outdoor environment for the children.

Mandy, the manager at Witham Valley Nursery, expressed her gratitude, saying: “All these amazing things have really helped with getting more of our children outside in all weathers, especially with the lack of sun we have had this year. We really can't thank you enough.”

Promoting Mental Health Awareness with Heads2Minds

Mental health charity, Heads2Minds, also benefited from the All In Alliances, receiving £750 to deliver a series of workshops in Witham. These workshops, which focused on mental health, neurodiversity and emotional well-being, were delivered to students, teachers and parents at Elm Hall Primary School.

CEO, Liz Rotheram, shared her appreciation, stating: “We were extremely grateful to receive this funding. It’s enabled us to reach a wider audience of all ages across the Witham community.”

What’s next?

Whilst we bid farewell to the All In Alliances, the spirit of community involvement continues. You can still play an active role in shaping your neighbourhoods through the Active Residents Network and Eastlight Residents’ Groups. These initiatives offer new opportunities for you to stay engaged, share ideas, and continue supporting your communities.
