New scheme to support young people in Witham boost their social skills

A new scheme to support young people in Witham is set to be launched this month.

The All In Community Teams for Witham, created by Eastlight Community Homes, have spent the last seven months building one bold idea that makes a difference to residents’ lives in their town.

Next week, the team of local residents will hold a launch event to introduce the pilot scheme that they have created with their local community.

The Witham team will introduce Popcorn at Rivenhall Oaks Golf Club on Wednesday, 25 January.

Popcorn involves young people, aged between 16 and 30, who have become socially isolated after years spent behind a computer screen during the pandemic, being supported by slightly older residents to enter the adult world.

The drop-in event, taking place between 4.30pm and 7pm, will include fun activities including virtual reality experiences and digital graffiti as well as the chance to find out more about the programme.
