Second-year partnership for Eastlight & Purple to drive disability inclusion
Eastlight has doubled down on its commitment to improve the experience of people with disabilities after partnering with Purple for a second year.
Last year, Eastlight became the housing sector partner for Purple, an organisation which aims to improve the customer experience for disabled people.
Over the last 12 months, we have worked to create a more diverse, inclusive and transparent culture that recognises the challenges our disabled customers face.
Next Tuesday marks Purple Tuesday, an annual event that highlights the value and power of disabled customers.
Chief Executive, Emma Palmer, will join Purple Partners, including eBay, Boots and Visit England, in attending the Piccadilly Lights event in London. There, partners will celebrate our achievements to date and raise awareness for the cause.
During the last year, we have hosted various webinars on the future of accessible homes & for those with hidden disabilities and introduced a neurodiversity recruitment programme. This has driven awareness and, as a result, more of our people have come forward about living and working with their own disabilities.
We plan to work in collaboration with Purple into 2023 to improve how we understand the experiences of disabled people and improve our services and relationships with all our residents.
Emma said: “I’m delighted that we have partnered with Purple for a second time to celebrate Purple Tuesday and support an initiative that focuses on improving the experience for people with disabilities right across the globe.
“It’s absolutely essential that we create an environment that supports all our customers and our people. We’re passionate to continue working alongside Purple to increase the accessibility and opportunity for disabled people in housing.”
Look out for more information of our involvement with Purple!
